Harrisburg’s Fourth of July Food Truck Festival

by Tymber Jennings

The Harrisburg Food Truck Festival occurs annually on July 4th, from 1-9 pm, with fireworks ending the enjoyable event. The Food Truck Festival, located at the Riverfront Park in Harrisburg, PA, draws people from all over Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas. The festival holds over 35 food trucks for visitors to partake in throughout the day. The event is free to the public and includes free street parking.

The festival not only consists of a wide variety of food and drinks but has family-friendly activities, a wine garden, live music, and a firework show, creating a fun and exciting environment. Families and singles partake in good, authentic food and have the time of their lives enjoying the music and games.

People stood in the lines of the food truck eateries and then found their place on the grass of the riverfront to eat and prepare for the fireworks that would occur that night. The event remains crowded, and the food trucks never cease to have customers. Some chose to purchase their food and drinks and then head elsewhere. However, many people decided to stay and enjoy a day full of food and excitement until the fireworks finale.

In 2022, Sundance Vacations, Visit Hershey & Harrisburg, Explore HBG, Capital Blue Cross, Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District, Park Harrisburg, Leaf Filter, Green Mountain Energy, PHFA, Sysco CPA, and Renewal by Anderson sponsored the annual Food Truck Festival.

Many areas within Pennsylvania have a history of hosting many food truck events for the community. Harrisburg hosts such events annually to encourage neighborhoods and tourists to come together and enjoy the city.
